This little canine, Zoe Simpson–a Yorkie–came in for her yearly exam on 6/26/16 weighing in at 9.5 lbs.
Zoe was overweight, having a hard time walking and issues with wheezing, panting and reverse sneezing with any activity.
Dr. Carlson recommended Science Diet Prescription Diet “Metabolic and Mobility” food.
On her yearly exam on Friday 6/23/17, Zoe has lost 2.4 lbs. She now weighs 7.6 lbs. She is having fewer issues with her walking and her breathing problems have improved.
Her reverse sneezing has almost cleared up.
Way to go Zoe!! You look great!
Just like with people, being overweight can severely inhibit your pets mobility and long term health. And its often much hard to tell how overweight an animal is by looking. Be sure to consult your veterinarian for the healthy weight recommendations for your pet, and a course of diet modification–like using high quality Science Diet available at Alpine–to help your pet achieve his healthiest weight.
